Lady Badgers devour the Lumberjacks 67-41
BONNERS FERRY — After a 25-21 halftime lead, the Badgers shot 54% in the second half making 14 of 26 field goal attempts, pulling away from St. Maries and on their way to a 67-41 victory.
“In the first half St. Maries was getting every rebound,” said head coach Travis Hinthorn. “In the second half, we moved the ball better, which led to better shots and fortunately we shot pretty well.”
Avery Bayer and Mia Blackmore combined for five three pointers in the second half.
Asha Abubakari led the Badgers with 17 points and nine rebounds. Avery Bayer scored 16 points including four three pointers. Kara Villaluz hit a new season high with12 points and Markynn Pluid scored in double digits adding 10 points, four rebounds and four steals. Mia Blackmore added to the balanced scoring with eight points and dished out eight assists.

Badgers will host the Spartans of Priest River next Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. The Badgers then head to Parma, Idaho, Dec. 27-30 for a three-day tournament, playing against American Falls in their first of three games.
