Karrell Louise Siver (Kenney)

| February 4, 2021 1:00 AM

It is with great sadness we must announce that Karrell Louise Siver (Kenney) departed in peace on Dec. 13, 2020; her life’s works completed at the age of 68. She spent her last moments surrounded by her treasured family who loves her beyond measure. She fell asleep in Jesus after a hard fought battle with Glioblastoma Multiform, and will rest from her earthly duties until He returns to take her home.

Karrell was born in Las Vegas, Nev., on June 29, 1952, to Darrell and Helen Kenney. Being a pastor's daughter she lived in various places in her youth, touching the hearts of many spread across the United States. Life’s hardships and a rambunctious wild streak caused her to be “let go” from a few schools growing up. She did end up graduating from College View Academy in Lincoln, Neb., with the class of 1970. She also married her teenage love, Randy Siver, in 1970. Three incredible children came of that marriage, Shawna, Seth, and Sam. The marriage ended in the early 1990s.

Karrell was one who excelled in whatever she put her mind to. She worked in a bakery, restaurants, as a seamstress, an IGA grocer, an awarded Home Interiors representative, and most notably, as a well-respected realtor in Bonners Ferry for 21 years. One achievement she was especially proud of was gaining sobriety in the late 1980s and maintaining it. She was also greatly supportive in helping others to obtain that same goal.

Karrell can be remembered for her long, gray locks of hair, her incredible laugh that permeated throughout rooms and eardrums, and at times, her ability to let her opinion be known whether you were asking for it or not. She was fiercely independent and stood strong in her convictions. She was also exceedingly loving, always caring for others, putting them first, and many came to her for her listening ear. She radiated love and positivity.

Karrell enjoyed and was exceptional at: gardening, sewing, crocheting, cooking/baking, crafting, and just about any hobby she would pick up, there were many! She was spirited, determined, energetic, and full of life!

But above all, Karrell loved Jesus. She was a devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventist church and was passionate about her relationship with her creator. He was her saving grace that turned her life around, gave her strength, peace, and comfort.

Karrell suffered many tragedies in her lifetime, including losing two siblings at very young ages, and her beloved daughter, Shawna Siver, at just 25. Her faith is what helped her endure, and as it strengthened, she thrived.

When it came to earthly matters, Karrell’s family gave her her greatest joy. She was a true matriarch and a pillar of strength for us all. She was wild about her children and grandchildren. She fought hard through her illness to be with us as long as possible. Saying she will be missed is an understatement, we all eagerly await to be reunited with her when Jesus comes again.

Karrell was preceded in death by her sisters, Marvel and Myrna; brother Darrell; daughter Shawna;, and her father and mother. Left to honor her memory is her younger sister Pamela and husband Max Shurtliff of Roy, Utah; son Seth and his wife Stacie Siver of Wasilla, Alaska; son Sam Siver and his companion Candi Doolin of Naples, Idaho; granddaughter turned daughter Arlaina Siver (whom she raised) and husband Jeremy Johnson of Bonners Ferry. She had eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The memorial service for Karrell will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at the Seventh-day Adventist church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
