This style of United States cap emblem, known as “Crows,” was issued by the Great Falls District Office in Great Falls, Montana. The district office covered the states of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and the northern part of Idaho through the early 1970s. After which, pins were issued by service headquarters in D.C. The badge was designed after a military pattern.

This badge belonged to retired customs officer, John B. Standal, who retired in 2008 as the port director of Eastport, Idaho. John donated it to the museum, along with several other U.S. Customs artifacts, before his death on May 21, 2020. John served his country and community, as well as volunteering in the museum.
