The farmer’s institute held under the auspices of the agricultural department of the Bonners Ferry High School was well attended by a fair size crowd despite the very unfavorable weather conditions. Superintendent Kerr was complimented by Dean Iddings and Secretary James Ford of Spokane Chamber of Commerce on having one of the finest high schools in the State of Idaho and mentioned that the work in manual training and physical training was not to be excelled even in the largest colleges of the West.
Members of the legislature from the northern counties have as yet made no move towards the formation of the much talked of new state of Lincoln.
Bonners Ferry is to have a new club, the Bonners Ferry Athletic Club, organized by the men of the town. The object of the organization is to provide a place of entertainment and recreation for men and boys of the town. Quarters have been secured in the K.P. Hall.
50 Years Ago
This weekend’s Bonners Ferry “Sno-Deo” snowmobile race card has been cancelled. The reason: there just is not any snow!
If the service is just a little slower in the next few weeks at Cone’s Café on the South Hill, there is good reason. Carol Pomeroy won an Elan (Ski-Doo) snowmobile recently at the Creston, B.C. Winter Festival.
Heading for the State Wrestling tourney today are: Toad Hall, Hank Solt, and Rex Beatty.

On Feb. 8, authorities detonated an improvised explosive device discovered in Bonners Ferry last month. The IED was seized along with a cache of other evidence on Jan. 21 after police responded to a complaint about a loud party in Bonners Ferry.
Endangered Kootenai River white sturgeon now have 6.9 more miles to spawn in the Kootenai River now that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service added to the current 11.2 mile section of the river designated as sturgeon habitat.
The ladies and gentlemen who volunteered for the 2005 Festival of Trees event raised a record amount in the ten-year history of the fundraiser; $62,644 was raised.
