SPORTS: BFHS wrestling sweeps IML foes
It was a clean sweep for the Badgers at the Intermountain League duals on Tuesday at Timberlake High School, as Bonners Ferry wrestling defeated Priest River, Kellogg and the host Tigers in league dual meets.
Bonners Ferry topped Priest River 54-21, beat Timberlake 58-27, and finished the evening with a 60-30 win over Kellogg.
The Bonners Ferry wrestling team began its week by going 2-1 in its pod on Friday, Jan. 15, at the River City Duals in Post Falls en route to a fourth-place finish in the Silver Bracket on Saturday.
The Badgers defeated McCall-Donnelly 39-30; defeated Lakeland 2 42-33; then lost to Coeur d'Alene 60-26 on Friday. This placed them second in their pod, and in the Silver Bracket for Saturday's dual meets.
Bonners Ferry opened Silver Bracket action with a 42-39 loss to Lewiston, and concluded the event with a 48-42 loss to Sandpoint in the bracket's third-place matchup.
The varsity wrestlers continue their season on Friday and Saturday at the Clearwater Classic tournament at Lewiston High School.
