Bell is found “Not Guilty!” He was freed by a jury on the charge of murdering Gust Lazos on Christmas morning. Self defense was his plea. The jury was out for ten hours before they reached a verdict.
F.A. Shultis, chairman of the fire department committee of the city council, is this week having the electric fire siren installed. The siren will be placed on the top of a 30 foot tower standing at the north end of Main Street next to the County Bridge. Three alarm stations will be installed from which alarms may be turned in.
The B.F. High School basketball team added two more games to their list of victories when they defeated the fast Libby High School by a score of 31-18. They defeated the Coeur d’Alene team in the fastest basketball game ever witnessed in Bonners Ferry by a score of 22-21.

An advertisement on an inside page this week reveals the names of 40 persons that have dividends coming from the K.V. Creamery Coop.
Daredevil Dick Solt captured first place in the “A” Main snowmobile race at Sandpoint last Sunday on a Polaris machine owned by Wayland Davis of Deep Creek.
Kiwanis Junior Basketball will be in full swing this Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m.

The Boundary County School District’s title to the Junior High property is now clear and the land and buildings are being reappraised this month in preparation for another sale attempt.
Work has begun in earnest on making the drive between Bonner and Boundary counties safer by re-aligning the curve at McArthur Lake.
A higher percentage of students enrolled are coming to school each day this year- a phenomenon Boundary County School District Superintendent Don Bartling attributes to the four-day school week.
