Abstract of the real assessment roll for 1921, just completed by J. B. Brody, county assessor, shows a total assessed valuation in Boundary County of real property and personal property of taxpayers who also own real property in the county, of $3,389,839. This is an increase of $95,479 over the values of last year as equalized by the state board of equalization.

H. H. Hughes, manager of the municipal water and light plant and F. A. Shultis, member of the town council, will leave tomorrow for Addie, Wash. to inspect the electric light plant and machinery and equipment which has been offered to the city at what is considered a reasonable price. The machinery consists of a Pelton Francis water wheel of 550 horsepower capacity.

The Idamont Mining Co., with claims located in the Katka district, a few miles east of Bonners Ferry, is planning to drive a 2,000 foot tunnel to intercept a vein of ore encountered in the upper tunnel, which it is believed will prove a rich deposit.

Nearly a hundred teenagers, counselors and staff members camped last Monday night at the Bonners Ferry Armory, representing the 22nd annual tour of “ Camp Pennington.” Organized by an Ann Arbor, Michigan family, Camp Pennington shows eastern U. S. youth a six-week outdoor tour of the grand sights in the Far West.

Over 450 motorcycle fans turned out last Sunday to watch the races at the Kings Raceway at Naples.

Frank Lenhart, owner of the Chevron Corner Service Station and Garage in Bonners Ferry, purchased the Quinn Motor Co. from Loren E. Quinn last week.

Saturday, at the Boundary County Fairgrounds, will be the first Donation Dog Wash. All donations will go to the 4-H Dog Project for learning lab and supplies.

Boundary County Middle School cheerleaders won the UCA regional title. The team beat out 26 other teams to claim the High School JV Championship at the UCA Regional Cheer-Off competition in Spokane.

Gov. Jim Risch personally presented the Rural Economic Development Block Grant checks totaling nearly $900,000 to the cities of Bonners Ferry and Moyie Springs at the Georgia Mae Plaza on Wednesday, July 19.
