| June 1, 2021 8:57 AM

Marion Neil “Butch” Padgett passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside at St. Luke’s Hospital in Meridian, Idaho, at the age of 78.

He was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Frank Henry and Clara (Gross) Padgett. He attended school in Bonners Ferry and after high school he enlisted in the Idaho National Guard where he was honorably discharged in 1962.

After his discharge from the guard, he met and married Sharon (Yelton) Padgett and together they had three children, Russ, Tim and Don. Butch lived his life driving semi trucks hauling logs and cattle.

When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed the outdoor life as well as relaxing in his recliner watching old John Wayne movies, reruns of Bonanza and old western movies.

Butch is survived by his three sons, Russ (Rhonda) Padgett of Boise, Idaho, Tim (Brandy) Padgett of New Meadows, Idaho, and Don (Steph) Padgett of Meridian; sisters Vivian Irwin of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Geraldine Sprenger of Lewiston, Idaho; as well as Tina (Robert) Torres of Weiser, Idaho. Even though Tina wasn’t his daughter, Butch treated her as his own as he was the only father she ever knew. Butch also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Clara (Padgett/Hickok); sisters Betty Long, Genevieve Kenworthy and Hazel Thompson; and brother, Archie Padgett

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021, in Bonners Ferry.

Rest in peace Butch, you will be missed.
