Another name for federal control is tyranny
This is in response to Daryl Kirby's guest opinion in last week's paper.
While I support his right to express his unfounded opinions, I was disappointed in his flagrant disregard for the truth. With regards to the lovers of freedom who were disturbed by Jim Woodward's anti-freedom voting record he used such terms as self-anointed saviors, newly-minted radicals, white supremacy groups, against public education, guilty of bullying, people who advocate violence against our state and nation, radical newcomers and referring to the Idaho Freedom Foundation as a shadow government.
I, for one, happen to believe that Jim Woodward is a nice guy and probably served honorably in the U.S. military. Neither of which qualifies him to be a legislator, however. It's his voting record and his flagrant disregard for constitutional principles that bothers most people. And that is what the Idaho Freedom Foundation reports on.
I highly recommend that everyone go to their website and check it out for themselves. You will see that Jim Woodward scored in the low 40s, while many of his fellow Republicans scored in the high 90s.
Jim even supported the governor's illegal and unconstitutional shutdown of Idaho's economy all the while grabbing as much federal money for so doing as he could possibly get his hands on. He defended it by saying, “if we don't take federal money we get taxed twice" without even considering constitutional limitations on such spending.
Federal money always means federal control. Another name for this is tyranny.
