Karen Tice

| March 4, 2021 1:00 AM

Karen Tice of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family to be with her Lord on Feb. 7, 2021.

Karen (aka Mom), youngest of four daughters and the seventh of eight children, was born June 22, 1941, to Francis and Georgena Loosen.

A very modest childhood was to shape her approach to life. On June 18, 1960, in Fulton, New York, she married her next-door neighbor Jack and never left his side in 45 years. Together they had two children, John and Tonja. In 1974, they bravely moved to North Idaho to build their dreams and enjoy life.

Quilting, sewing, creative writing, gardening, scrapbooking, baking, and serving others at church was a way of life for Mom when not helping Dad nail shingles on. As many can attest, the golden rule was her true religion.

She is survived by her two children, John (Sonya) Tice and Tonja (Paul) Beaudoin, all of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; eight grandchildren, Richard Faber of Kathmandu, Nepal, Brianne Suldovsky of Portland, Ore., Kristin (Kevin) James of Moyie Springs, Idaho, Mat (Val) Surprenant of Moyie Springs, Idaho, Tara (Kyle) Harkson of Rathdrum, Idaho, Wyatt Bennett of Tacoma, Wash., Jadyn Bennett of Moyie Springs, and Jorryn Bennett of Bonners Ferry; and seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Jaxxon, and Linkin James, Miley, Skye and Kaydence Harkson and Adeleigh May Pope.

We will be having a celebration of Karen's life this summer of 2021.
