NAPLES — Boundary County Republican Central Committee will be hosting their Lincoln Day dinner on May 22 at The Great Northwest Event Center.

According to the vice-chair, Dave Wenk, the dinner is BCRCCs only fundraiser, and the theme is "Never Surrender.”

Lincoln Day dinners are held across the United States each year by local and state Republican Party organizations. The Lincoln day dinner is traditionally held in March and April, but due to COVID disruptions, it’s being organized for May 22.

“We had to push our dinner back until we reached stage 3 restrictions. The tradition is for the recognition of the start of the Republican Party,” Wenk said.

Local, state and federal elected officials often attend the dinners; this year, the committee invited all GOP elected officials, with many confirming their attendance this year, who are encouraged to speak at the event.

Funds generated will be used for expenses to operate the committee. Members are required to attend meetings at the local, state and national levels; funds are also used to support candidates in the general elections with campaign donations.

There will be a silent auction and a grand door prize of a Ruger .308 rifle, which will be given to one lucky attendee. Dinner will feature prime rib.

There will be a time for socializing at 5 p.m. with dinner starting promptly at 6 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person and must be purchased in advance.

BCRCC meetings are held the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m. at Mugsy's in Bonners Ferry and are open to the public. You can also find BCRCC with a booth at the fair each year and is staffed by BCRCC members and elected officials.

Tickets can be purchased from any central committee member or by contacting Dave Wenk at (208) 267-8170.
