A. B. Ashby, station agent for the Great Northern Railway Co., received another telegram from Mr. Merritt, of the traffic department, Spokane, to the effect that authority was expected at once to proceed with the improvement of the Great Northern Railway crossing in Bonners Ferry.
H. V. Van Gundy, one of the proprietors of the New Variety Store, has sold out his store at Oakesdale, Washington, and has opened a ladies furnishings store in Spokane at the corner of First and Howard Streets.
A. J. Steinmetz and F. D. Wilson have leased quarters in the Casey Hotel Building, in which they plan to conduct a meat market.

A new Goodyear service store is scheduled to open on the Southside of Bonners Ferry, December 15, J. B. Wages, owner of J. B. Enco Service announced this week.
It was a good opening weekend for elk hunters in Boundary County as hunter reports indicate at least nine elk bagged over the weekend, with seven of the nine being cows.
City Council’s Tuesday night meeting resulted in a request to the Highway Department asking for cooperation in eliminating several South Hill hazards - no warning signs at the railroad crossing, lack of guardrails, and improper banking on the curve.

More than 150 people crowded into the 25th annual Ducks Unlimited Kootenai Valley Chapter banquet and auction Friday night and helped honor long time member and Honorary Memorial Chairman Larry Napier.
The doors for the Mount Hall Mega Auction open at 11 a.m., Nov. 11 at the Mount Hall School. The auction, which starts at noon, benefits the Boundary County schools and coordinator Sharlene Anderson hopes for a huge turnout.
Ray Sayers passed four runners in the final 600 meters to grab a medal at the 3A state cross country meet Saturday in Lewiston.
