BCMS ranked 25th in Idaho

BONNERS FERRY — Boundary County Middle School ranked 25th in the state from 156 middle schools in Idaho well above expected in both reading and math.

Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare their students for high school, said USNews.com.

The student population of BFMS is 313 and the school serves 6-8 grades. At the middle school, 51% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 65% scored at or above that level for reading, said USNew.com. In Boundary County School District, 60% of students tested at or above the proficient level for reading, and 45% tested at or above that level for math.

USNews.com said, BCMS did better in math and reading in this metric compared with students across the state. In Idaho, 52% of students tested at or above the proficient level for reading, and 44% tested at or above that level for math.

In comparison, Sandpoint Middle School was ranked No. 60 in the state.
