Joanie Petersen, 74

| October 6, 2021 9:07 AM

After a long battle with cancer, Joanie Petersen left to be with the Lord on Sept. 26, 2021.

She was born Oct. 9, 1946, to Lewis and Agnes Mark in Greeley, Colo.

Over the years, she held many jobs in customer service where her joy and love for people shined, Samsonite where she developed close lifetime friends, Pink Lion, where she became acquainted with all who traveled through Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She held other jobs throughout her years and finally retired from the local Department of Motor Vehicles, where she continued to add to her group of friends.

I believe there is not anyone she has met who is not a friend or a treasured neighbor.

In her spare time, she planted flowers, flowers and more flowers. She macraméd owl plant hangers, toll painted, sewed everything from dolls to clothes, and crocheted rugs. She was talented with anything arts and crafts related.

She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Bob Petersen; her mother, Agnes; siblings Ruby Wingert (Doug Wingert), Robin Milliken (Jeff Milliken) and Rend Schmidt; children Pam Walls, Kevin Gann (Daphne Gann) and Kelly Spangler (Chris Spangler); grandchildren Katelyn Vannozzi, Sierra Temple, Brittany Spangler and Kaelyn Walls; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Joanie's light-hearted smiling face and lively spirit will be missed.
