Bonners Ferry boys, girls soccer will play for state berths on Friday

POST FALLS — The third-seeded Bonners Ferry girls soccer team took down No. 6 seed St. Maries 4-1 in the first round of the 3A District 1-2 tournament on Monday.

With the victory, the Badgers (9-6) advance to the district semifinals and will face No. 2 seed Timberlake (9-4) at 6 p.m. Friday at The Fields at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls. The winner will earn a spot in the district title game and a berth to the state tournament.

The Badgers split a pair of regular season meetings with the Tigers, and wrapped up regular season play last Thursday with a 6-3 victory at Timberlake.

The Bonners Ferry boys soccer team ousted No. 6 seed Orofino from the 3A District 1-2 tournament on Monday, beating the Maniacs 4-1 in the first round.

The third-seeded Badgers (11-2-4) play No. 2 seed Timberlake (11-3-3) in the district semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday at The Fields, with the winner qualifying for state.

Bonners Ferry tied the Tigers twice in a pair of regular season matchups.
