BCSO announces Halloween weekend patrols

The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office has coordinated with the Idaho Transportation Department’s Office of Highway Safety to fund traffic enforcement patrols through the Halloween weekend.

Beginning today, Oct. 28, and extending through Monday, Nov. 1, additional deputies will be patrolling Boundary County roads and highways, Andrew O'Neel, Boundary County EMS director, said. The effort is part of a program aimed to reduce traffic related injuries and deaths during a time when there will be additional young pedestrians out and about.

“We ask that motorists use extreme caution this weekend when driving in areas where there is pedestrian traffic,” O’Neel said. “Excited trick-or-treaters can sometimes be unpredictable when walking along or crossing roadways.”
