In gratitude for those who served in Afghanistan

| September 2, 2021 1:00 AM

I would like to express my gratitude to all of the servicemen and woman who served in Afghanistan. I want you to know that your service was not in vain. You protected the the United States of America from foreign-born terror. You took the fight to them instead of allowing them to bring the fight to our soil as we saw in 2001.

Nothing that our unqualified and politically motivated “leaders” in Washington, D.C., have done to create this disaster in Afghanistan falls on you.

We here who live safe in our homes are forever indebted to you. We will never forget you or the heroes who did not come home.

As I write this I find that words are wholly inadequate to express this gratitude. But please know I’m pretty sure I speak for all of us here locally and I know an overwhelming majority of us across the United States. We remain the greatest nation in the world because of those you who willingly rise to protect us.

Stand proud. And thank you.
