BCSD food service welcome back letter

Welcome back for the 2021-22 school year.

Please note, due to an extension of a USDA program, all students will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge for the 2021-22 school year.

It is important to note that families DO NOT need to complete a meal application in order to receive free breakfast and/or free lunch SY21/22. All enrolled students will automatically receive universal free breakfast and lunch without any household information being requested or collected. No application required.

However, filling out an application for free/reduced priced meals assures student's eligibility for any additional funding (i.e. Pandemic-EBT).

Applications can be filled out by going to the school website https://www.bcsd101.com and clicking on Breakfast & Lunch Menus at the bottom of the page on the right. Click on Free and Reduced under Nutrition Services to the right, then click the "Nutri*Link" icon at the top of the page. This will take you to the online Free/ Reduced meal application. Fill this out and submit it.

All meals follow the Federal Nutritional Guidelines as well as the National Food Pyramid. We offer a variety of fruits and vegetables daily. All food products purchased have to meet USDA nutritional guidelines. All meals are whole grain, low fat, no trans fats and low in sodium.

Parents/Guardians: can go to MySchoolBucks.com to put money on a student's account to purchase a la carte items. If students bring a cold lunch and need to purchase milk, the cost is 75ยข.

Students may purchase a second meal at the adult price of $4.35 and breakfast for $2.35.

Great News: Naples Elementary and Valley View Elementary have been awarded the Fruit and Vegetable Grant. Each student will have the opportunity to try a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables this year.
