Honey Do Painting looking for volunteers who love our town
BONNERS FERRY — Honey Do Painting’s yearlong program is looking for volunteers for its “We Love Our Town” community outreach program.
The purpose of the event is to give back to Bonners Ferry, and its a yearlong program, but they are setting up the date of Sept. 18 to have volunteers sign up and complete tasks for those in need before the winter season, according to Honey Do Painting
“It was put on our hearts from the Lord, we really wanted to bring the community together and serve the people,” said Victoria Morales, administrative assistant for Honey Do Painting.
Among the tasks, the group plans to do are weed whacking around homes or businesses, mowing lawns, minor repairs, clipping bushes or pruning trees, cleaning up trash, handling dump runs and grocery shopping.
Donations come from Honey Do Painting and any person who can contribute to the program.
According to Morales, Honey Do Painting has painted several churches at no cost to the churches. Additionally, they financially helped individuals in need of drug and alcohol recovery programs and who otherwise would not have been able to afford it.
The program is not just a one-time event but a neighborly goal to continue to help the town and residents out in different ways, Morales said.
Morales said Honey do Painting has given jobs to individuals who find themselves unemployable due to their pasts but who deserve a second chance.
The goal is to create better communication between friends, family and neighbors, especially since the disruptions to people’s lives caused by the pandemic, said Morales of the company’s efforts.
“It’s very important for us to let everyone know that we love our town [and] always be around to support one another,” Morales said. “We would like everyone to have a part in this and take pride in knowing we are all a team and no one is alone when it comes to our town.”
According to Morales, the We Love Our Town program was created to help those in need, whether elderly, veterans, single mothers or just families struggling to get by.
“We want to pull together as a community like a family and are looking forward to helping in any way,” she said, adding that the words that drive Honey Do Painting are cited in 1 Corinthians 10:3.
“Whatever you do, do for the glory of God.”
