| September 21, 2021 10:32 AM

Farice Sarah (Ferrell) Basler passed to be with the Lord on Sept. 18, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was 94 years old.

Farice was born in Leedey, Okla., on July 18, 1927. She went to elementary school in a one-room school house outside Leedey and then graduated from Leedey High School. After college, Farice taught in a small school outside Leedey.

In 1947, Farice married Isidor Aubie Basler, also from Leedey. Isidor, who everyone called Gub, gave Farice the nickname Frosty. Most of you may know them as Gub and Frosty.

Frosty and Gub moved to Lancaster, Calif., in 1956, where Gub was a carpenter and Frosty was an instructor at a beauty school. They also spent a lot of time “flipping” old houses.

Around 1981, Gub and Frosty followed their two children to Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Their retirement years were spent enjoying family and friends. They were also very active in their church, the Bonners Ferry Church of Christ.

Gub passed to be with the Lord in 2005. Frosty remained in Bonners Ferry until 2015, when she moved to Coeur d'Alene, where she lived until her passing.

Farice is survived by her two children, Tommy Basler and his wife, Rita (Dinning) of Bonners Ferry, and Peggy Severson of Coeur d’Alene; four grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife, Zhenya Gwin, Aaron and his wife, Christine, Jake Gwin and Auby Basler; and four great-grandchildren, Alex Gwin Holmes, Grace Gwin, and Nik and Zoja Gwin.

A graveside service for Farice will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry. The family invites friends to join us to celebrate Farice’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of North Idaho in honor of Farice Basler. To leave a message or memory for the family, please go to www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is caring for the family.
