Helmer wins 'Ace of the month' honors

The game of the day for the Mirror Lake Ladies for Sept. 22 was “Ace of September” and “Mystery Partner,” where playing cards are drawn and then randomly paired for scoring in partner teams at the end of play.
The winner for Ace of the Month of September was Therese Helmer, with a net of 38. The Mystery Partners winners were Karen English and Etta Mae Schneurle with their combined net of 82. Gerry Ann Howlett had a chip in and birdie on Hole No. 5. Karen English had the low gross score of 51 and Gerry Ann Howlett and Linda Collier tied for low putts with 14.
The Mirror Lake Ladies 2021 golf season is winding down, with the Ace of the Month play-offs being held Sept. 29, and Wednesday, the “Impossible Open” set for the first Wednesday in October, and the end-of-the-year dinner following this event to cap off the season. Many thanks to manager Ralph Lotspeich, and his crew for keeping the course fairways and greens in terrific condition despite the drought, smoke, and equipment challenges of the summer. Weather permitting, the course will remain open for many more weeks to come.
