Idaho Science and Aerospace Scholars program accepting applications
High school juniors are encouraged to apply for the Idaho Science & Aerospace Scholars program, a STEM course provided at no cost to the student. The application is available on the ISAS website at https://www.sde.idaho.gov/academic/isas/ and must be submitted by Nov. 1.
ISAS is a competitive program that allows high school juniors to take an engaging online NASA-developed course on space exploration through the Idaho Digital Learning Alliance that teaches a broad range of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills.
This graded course consists of eight online units and a semester project. Master educators will work with students online throughout the course. At the completion of the course, students will have the opportunity to participate in a regional Capstone Celebration.
Based on their performance in this course, students will be invited to participate in a week-long summer academy at Boise State University and NASA Ames Research Center in California. Students will receive one high school science elective credit for successful completion of the online curriculum or may register for (2) concurrent credits for a fee through Boise State University.
In the event that in-person activities are not advisable due to safety or health concerns, alternative virtual events will be available.
