BCSO warns of spam calls

BONNERS FERRY — The Boundary County Sheriff's Office has received reports of phone calls being made in the area by individuals representing themselves as calling from the Publishers Clearing House.

These individuals have requested that the call recipient obtain gift cards to send them before they can claim their prize.

"Just a reminder, please do not get or send gift cards or money orders from unsolicited phone callers, these are a scam," said Sheriff Dave Kramer. "If you are in doubt, please check with your bank or law enforcement before sending anything like this to someone regardless of how good their offer may sound."
