BONNERS FERRY — Searchers in Boundary County successfully located two 7-year-old girls who had been missing since 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.

Following an overnight search, the girls were found Sunday morning April 10, about 11:30 a.m., uninjured and were reunited with their family.

Thanks to close to 40 searchers from many local agencies who participated, including Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, Boundary County Search, Dive & Rescue Team, Hall Mountain Fire Association, North Bench Fire Association, Curley Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Paradise Valley Fire District, South Boundary Fire District, Boundary Ambulance, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Two-Bear Air.

Special thanks also goes to Boundary County School District 101 for providing a warm facility for the Incident Command Post and to Boundary County Chaplains Corps “Angel One” team, Hall Mountain Auxiliary, Mountain Springs Church, and Kari Apo for supporting searchers with food and drinks throughout the operation.

“The teamwork and dedication of all the responding volunteer organizations was amazing, you couldn’t ask for more caring or dedicated individuals. And a special thanks to the couple that found the girls on their property in the area, and brought them down to us,” said Sheriff Dave Kramer.
