Trio inducted into North Hall of Fame

COEUR d’ALENE — Brayln Bayer, Ralph Lotspiech and Eli Richards were inducted to the North Idaho Hall of Fame at the 59th annual North Idaho Sports Banquet on April 16.
Bonners Ferry athletes, teams and coaches were nominated 12 times across the various categories.
Braylyn Bayer was named North Idaho’s 2021-2022 High School Girls Golf Athlete of the Year. Ralph Lotspeich, Badger golf coach, was named North Idaho’s 2021-2022 Girls Coach of the Year. Eli Richards named North Idaho’s 2021-2022 High School Wrestling Athlete of the Year.
Of the five girls nominated for Girls Golf Athlete of the Year, three were Bonners Ferry Badgers: Braylyn Bayer, Avery Bayer and Cali Iacolucci. The 2021 3A State Champions Badger girls golf team was also nominated for Girls Team of the Year.
For soccer, Morgan Burt was nominated for Girls Soccer Player of the Year honors.
Bo Bateman was nominated for Boys Baseball Player of the Year and for Athlete of the Year honors. Charles Henslee was nominated for Boys Track Athlete of the Year. Nick Eastman was nominated for Boys Soccer Player of the Year honors.
Jackson Rickter was also nominated as North Idaho District I-II Wrestler of the Year. In this category, Bonners Ferry was the only school with two nominations.
Bateman and Richards were also nominated as North Idaho’s 2021-2022 High School Male Athlete of the year.
Ethan Hubbard and Asha Abubakari were nominated as the male and female recipients from BFHS for the Duane Hagadone Character Award. Abubakari also won a drawing for a $500 scholarship.
