NBVFD thanks community for support
North Bench Volunteer Fire District Auxiliary's recent raffle/bake sale was a complete success.
In addition to home-baked treats, community members also had the chance at the two-day event, held April 23-24, to purchase raffle tickets for an Elite22 caliber rifle. In addition, many community members didn't purchase anything, but left a donation to support the firefighters.
As a result, NBVFD Auxiliary raised $1,603.27.
“Our firefighters, board members, and auxiliary can’t thank the community enough for the very generous support,” NBVFD officials said.
Auxiliary members said that they know that the cost of everything is increasing on an almost daily basis and budgets are tight. That includes fuel, replacement parts, and protective equipment for local firefighters as well. As a dues-based fire district, NBVFD relies primarily on annual dues, but any other activities such as raffles and bake sales are a big boost.
There’s still time to purchase raffle tickets for the drawing, which will be held on July 12. NBVFD and Auxiliary members look forward to seeing community members at the upcoming Borders 3 Jamboree Car Show, the first Saturday in June and at the NBVFD booth at the Boundary County Fair in August.
