BFHS XC season 2022 information
BFHS cross country will begin fall practice Monday, Aug. 8, at 4:30 p.m. at the south end of the bleachers of the football/track stadium. A mandatory parent/information meeting to be followed by a short practice.
“We will be going over team rules and expectations for the season,” said head coach Tyler Warner.
Athletes who have completed all paperwork (including team rules), have a physical on file, and are properly dressed/prepared for practice will be able to practice immediately. Athletes without physicals on file at the high school, completed team rules, school code of conduct, and insurance information will not be allowed to practice until completed.
Physicals are required for freshmen, juniors, and anyone who is new to extracurricular activities at BFHS.
Parents/athletes who cannot attend the parent/info meeting should make contact with coaches ASAP, being mindful the IHSAA no contact period is in effect from Aug. 1-8.
Beginning Aug. 9, all summer practices will begin at 7 a.m. to limit training during the heat of the day, Warner said. All practices will begin and end at the high school student parking lot at the south end of the lot and will last approximately 2.5 hours. Full practice schedules for the first two weeks will be available at first practice and available every two weeks thereafter. Ten practices are required to compete.
BFHS XC is open to all high school age students of any experience level. Athletes are expected to wear running appropriate attire, such as running shoes, athletic shorts/leggings, (no jeans or denim material), shirt, layers are encouraged for morning practices/weather. Athletes are expected to bring their own water bottles (two minimum highly recommended for summer practices).
Meets will be posted on bfbadgers.com and on the team’s athletic.net page. Tyler Warner can be contacted at tyler.warner@mail.bcsd101.com.
