It's never too late to see local history

BONNERS FERRY — The Boundary County Museum had its free museum day on Saturday, Aug. 6, but it's never too late to see local history.
Come learn about the founders of Boundary County, the history of the Kootenai Tribe, logging and the ingenuity that brought commerce and trade to North Idaho. Come see the portrait hall and read about the 40 “pioneers” of Boundary County, commissioned by Stan and Georgia DeHart and painted by local artist Bette Myers.
Memberships to the Boundary County Historical Society and Museum provide a significant and necessary source of funding, as well as show support for the Museum.
The Museum hours are Thursday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. $2 per visitor or $5 per family. BCHS members and those 14 yrs old and under are free
On Saturday, August 27, is a walking tour at Mountain View Mennonite Cemetery
Cemetery walk starts at 1 pm. Gather at the cemetery gates at 12:30 – 12:55 p.m. Pre-register at the Museum – Registration fee of $5.00 per person will be split between the Museum and Mountain View Cemetery.
