Tuesday, Aug 16th, 3 p.m.: A reconnaissance aircraft flew over the Eneas Peak fire to gather information about current fire size and behavior. The fire had grown to 8 acres of burned area and it is still being watched closely by firefighters. It is primarily burning upslope in a north-westerly direction towards the top of the ridge north of Fisher Creek.
No structures are at risk due to this fire, which has been burning on a steep 68-degree slope in the Fisher Creek drainage. The U.S. Forest Service plans to employ firefighting aircraft to attack the fire as soon as aircraft become available from where they are currently being used on other fires.
