Commissioners to spend approximately $500,000 in ARPA funds for BCSO
BONNERS FERRY — The Boundary County commissioners voted to spend approximately $500,000 of the American Rescue Plan Act funds for the improvements for Boundary County Sheriff’s Office facilities in a 3-0 vote.
After consulting with county attorneys, Boundary County commissioners accepted the first two American Rescue Plan Act payments for various county projects at the July 18 meeting.
On Aug. 15, the commissioners approved the use of the funds for roof, H-VAC repairs and a generator at the Armory building and a fully fitted ambulance for the Boundary County Ambulance Service.
The commissioners are scheduled to discuss and make possible action regarding ARPA funds durning next Tuesday’s meeting. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. located at the Armory located at 6566 Main St., Bonners Ferry.
Commissioners said they are considering using APRA funds for Park and Recreation for new bathrooms and a splash pad, a new fire station at Curly Creek and other projects across the county that match the uses for ARPA funds.
