Family Search website available at local LDS church
BONNERS FERRY — Find your family for free through FamilySearch.org at the Genealogy Research Center at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
You may have seen them at the Genealogy Research Center at 102nd Boundary County Fair. The center is a resource to learn about your family history at the LDS church, 6865 Alderson Lane, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Volunteers at the research center can help you set up a free account with familysearch.org. Genealogists add nearly 1,000 recorders every week in the world’s largest shared family tree. In 1894, the Genealogical Society of Utah, now FamilySearch, was founded to help church members trace their family trees.
FamilySearch is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping all people discover their family story. Most of the profiles in Family Tree are based on sources, FamilySearch.org said.
Upon looking up an ancestor, there may be a few records attached to them as well. There is also a compare a face option where you can compare your face to your relatives' faces, and see whom you most resemble.
