Wednesday's weather will be very busy all day long with thunderstorms. A couple clusters of thunderstorms around North Idaho and north-central Idaho have already been going since before sunrise. More thunderstorms and the potential for severe weather will be even more likely after 4 p.m. today.

There's a risk for damaging winds, hail, and flooding rains in the strongest of thunderstorms that develop between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday. Because of that, a marginal risk for severe weather is the outlook for eastern Washington and all of North Idaho today. Additionally, flood watches are issued for northeastern Washington and the panhandle of North Idaho as well. These two alerts cover the wind, hail, and flooding risks.

The cut off low pressure, responsible for thunderstorms already this week, is now directly over northern Washington this morning and will move over eastern Washington by the afternoon. This is providing the lift in the atmosphere to create the thunderstorms, and with energy levels/instability so high, this is why strong thunderstorms are likely.

Scattered mountain thunderstorms are still in the forecast for Thursday, as the low pressure area starts to depart eastward.

Friday begins a dry stretch, but will still be hot with temperatures in the low 90s, but the weekend ahead appears to be incredibly comfortable! Temps will be in the low 80s with mostly sunny conditions both days.
