Douglas Miracle, 90

Doug Miracle passed away the evening of August l, 2022, at his home with his son Doyle by his side.

Doug was born June 5, 1932, to Gene and Anne Miracle in the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in Canada. He moved to the Porthill area with his family as a child when his father was transferred as a U.S. Customs agent.

He attended school at the Porthill school and high school in Creston, British Columbia, in Canada. He started working in the timber and mining industries as a teenager. Doug joined the U.S. Army and fought honorably in the Korean War.

He spent most of his working years in the timber industry, mining, ranching, farming and truck driving. He returned to Bonner Ferry in the early 1970s, where he spent the rest of his life and raised his son.

Doug enjoyed dancing, fishing, huckleberry picking but most especially hockey (the more fights the better). He was also a member of the Eagles for 65 years, most of them with Aeries No. 3522.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Anne; sisters, Winnie, Ida, and Eunice; and brothers Harley and Murrey.

His is survived by his son, Doyle; stepchildren, Albert, Sharon, Kurt and Teri; grandchildren, Tim Miracle and Quincey (Alberto) Miracle; and the two Richards children, Amanda and Andrew, who called him Grandpa from the day they could talk. He also leaves behind sister-in-law Betty Miracle and brother-in-law Ken Jones; along with many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

At his request no funeral services will be held.
