At the regular weekly meeting of the Kootenai Valley Commercial Club held Monday night, E.E. Saunders, chairman of the municipal swimming pool committee, reported that his committee had tentative plans for giving benefit dances for the swimming pool fund.

On Tuesday of this week, A.N. Green of Porthill received a shipment of a registered Holstein bull and ten Holstein cows from Mount Vernon, Wash.

More than 900 babies have been born in the State of Idaho up to Nov. 10.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayland Davis, proprietors of the Deep Creek Club-Motel announced they have purchased the Valley Motel on the South Hill.

Gary Neumeyer, 14, Bonners Ferry, had his steer named grand champion over all breeds at the 1972 Pacific International Livestock Exposition in Portland, Oregon. The steer weighed 1,052 pounds and is an Angus.

All lanes were shut off at 8:00 Tuesday evening at Kootenai Lanes while bowlers sang "Happy Birthday" to “Slim” Allured as he turned 79.

Spencer Wells had $72 burning a hole in his pocket. Knowing he wanted to donate it, the nine year old only had one problem, which charity was right for him? Spencer decided to donate his money to Care-N-Share, a local group that helps the needy at Christmas.

Three Mile Corner owner Chuck Quillin, for an 18th year in a row, served free turkey dinners on Thanksgiving to anyone who stopped. Quillin gave away a record 390 meals.

Bonners Ferry Lions Club returned from Creston, B.C. last week with two tons of potatoes for Community Action Partnership Food Bank in Bonners Ferry.
