BONNERS FERRY—- Bonners Ferry High School and Boundary County Middle School are back at their annual turkey and ham food drive competition with Dec. 21 at 8.a.m being the deadline.

Last year the middle school won the food drive competition with a whopping 44 hams and 12 turkeys. The high school brought in 31 hams and eight turkeys.

“As last year's winners, the middle school students are working hard to repeat again this year,” Kelly Hinthorn, middle school leadership teacher, told the Herald. “We have been collecting hams and turkeys this week, and next week we have a few incentives we're working on to get even more. Hopefully we will meet our goal of 50 of each protein this year and come away with another victory.”

Dec. 21 at 8 a.m. is the last day to donate to the food drives at the high school and middle school. The food drive is open to students and community members and all food stuff will be donated to the local food banks.
