Wind chill advisory extended to Friday

BOUNDARY COUNTY —- Wind chill advisory has been extended until Friday at 11 a.m. with wind chills reading 5 to 20 (Fahrenheit) degrees below zero.

Winds are estimated at 5 to 10 mph with localized speeds to 15 mph across the upper Columbia Basin. Advisory is for the North Idaho Panhandle, East and Central Washington.

Officials warn that cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Areas of drifting and blowing snow could lead to travel impacts. Avoid outside activities if possible. When outside, make sure you wear appropriate clothing, a hat and gloves.
