BOUNDARY COUNTY — North Idaho weather came out in full force the past two weeks with snow, below zero wind chill, rain, melting, flooding and an avalanche warning.

Weather.com’s 10-day forecast for Bonners Ferry includes rising temperatures in the 30s through Sunday. Snow showers are expected on Friday, Dec. 30 with more snow showers to rain in the first week in January.

If wind chills return, authorities advise residents to keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends and neighbors during cold weather. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside, as they are a fire hazard.
