“Located northwest of Naples, Highland Flats (first called "High Land Flats") was heavily forested with huge cedar and white pine in abundance. As homesteaders arrived, trails and roads were cut giving the appearance of tunnels." This is how the story of Highland Flats begins in “Small Towns, Big Dreams.”

On Friday, Feb. 11 from 6-7 p.m., the Boundary County Library will be hosting Sue Kemmis and the Boundary County Historical Society to discuss the book, “Small Towns, Big Dreams."

Join the group to hear how the book developed into a wonderful publication. Books can be purchased at the museum for $25 each.

The Boundary County Historical Society and Museum, 7229 Main St., Bonners Ferry, Idaho, sponsors this column.

Visit the museum Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and you can visit the website at www.boundarycountymuseum.org or the museum’s Facebook page for historical photos and stories, and to see upcoming events.
