Council owed thanks for bringing our tax dollars home
I am writing to thank the Bonners Ferry City Council for using the ARPA funds to purchase a much-needed snow blower for the city. ARPA funds are tax dollars that we, the taxpayers of Bonners Ferry, sent to Washington, D.C.
I, for one, am happy to have my money back to be used for the safety of our community.
According to what Donna Capurso wrote, there were people in attendance at the last City Council meeting to protest the council’s consideration to use ARPA funds, who became angry with raised voices and the city police had to be called, which only made the public attendees more disgusted.
What happened to common respect? In my lifetime, I have never heard of the police needing to be called to a council meeting. Shame on you.
Those who are new here may not know that Bonners Ferry had been voted the "Friendliest City in Idaho." That’s who we are.
I am curious if any of you who were protesting returned their two stimulus checks to the federal government. Or maybe used the money for your own personal snow removal equipment?
Again, thank you city council members. I hope our Boundary County commissioners will also bring back our tax dollars when they have the opportunity.
