Concerns regarding overreach aren't opinions or conspiracies

| February 17, 2022 1:00 AM

Concerns regarding government overreach and loss of liberties are not opinions or conspiracy theory. The ARPA legislation lists the federal government overreach. To summarize:

• Rule 9 … requires compliance with ALL other applicable federal statues, regulations and executive orders…

• Rule 14, Treasurer will take any action available to it to collect such debt.

• The more than 400-page document contains language that is concerning for further violation of civil liberties and rights, to include medical rights.

The decision compelled from the commissioners through the drafting of resolutions was reasonable and necessary based on facts. It passed unanimously.

ARPA is federal money that comes with unprecedented compliance language. The above highlighted language was deemed by all three commissioners, the county clerk, legal, the county treasurer and members of the public to be concerning. Further review is needed before spending ARPA money.

Members of our community; come together. Decisions made today will impact our community as a whole tomorrow. There is no harm in understanding what ARPA is before we make a decision on whether to spend ARPA money.

How we treat each other through this process of education can cause unnecessary and irreparable damage to our community.

“… An educated man is one who has so developed the faculties of his mind that he may acquire anything he wants, or its equivalent, without violating the rights of others.” (Napolean Hill).
