R.E. Alexander, county agent, reported that there is a demand for about 3 carloads of dairy cattle of the Holstein-Freisan and Guernsey breeds. Twenty-one local farmers responded to the questionnaire from last week.

The Light & Water Dept. is advertising a Laun-dry-ette machine that both washes and dries your clothes. It whirls the clothes dry without a wringer making it absolutely impossible to injure even the most dainty piece. Available for $25 down.

A gas war — of sorts — started in Bonners Ferry on Monday morning with most service stations lowering regular gas prices to 35.9 cents per gallon.

School trustees of District 101 Monday evening unanimously accepted the resignation of Tom McAfee as BFHS basketball coach and athletic director.

Triumphing over three rounds at the district wrestling tournament held last weekend at Kellogg and Coeur d’Alene, Brad Bruhn brought home the district championship in the heavyweight class. Mike Young, who finished second in the 170-pound class, will also travel with Bruhn to the state tournament.

The Bonners Ferry High School Robotics Team, Alpha+, is building a robot to play Rack-n-Roll, a Robotics competition for high schools in the Pacific Northwest.

Alexander Awbrey received fifth place and Taylor Tompke received fourth place at the North Idaho Math Counts competition on Feb. 13.

The Bonners Ferry Badger Wrestling Team traveled to Spirit Lake to take on the Timberlake Tigers in their final 2007 match beating the Tigers 39-36.
