Poston and Smith sworn in to city council

BONNERS FERRY — Brion Poston and Ron Smith were sworn in on the city council on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Ron Smith is in his third city council term.

Poston has been a highly involved member of the community and has served on the Boundary County Waterways Board, the city of Bonners Ferry Golf Committee, and Friends of Mirror Lake.

Adam Arthur stepped down as city council member. He did not run for re-election in October. Mayor Dick Staples thanked Arthur for his public service.

Rick Alonso was voted in unanimously as council president.

Bonners Ferry City Council meetings are the first and third Tuesdays of each month in council chambers at Bonners Ferry City Hall at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Zoom options are available. Visit https://bonnersferry.id.gov/ for more information, agendas and Zoom link.
