100 Years Ago

Services were held for A.A. McIntyre, formerly the editor of the Kootenai Valley Times. During the past year, Mr. McIntyre, age 52, had been suffering from a tumor in the stomach, which when removed at the Deaconess Hospital weighed 71 pounds, and was the cause of his death.

Idaho’s 1921 farm crops are valued at $67,318,000. Hay, an important crop, yielded 3,180,000 tons at an average of $5.60 a ton. Potatoes exceeded the two previous years with total production of 10,545,000 bushels valued at $8,119,650.

Badger wrestlers placed second in the four-team tournament held over this weekend at Kellogg. Winning mat-men were: Hank Solt, Lee Wright, Mike Young, and Brad Bruhn. Dewey Hall and Bill Hatfield were second place winners, while Jim McCoy, Tim Wilson, Brent Studer, and Orval Gentry finished third.

For the second year in a row a Junior Miss from Bonners was judged the first runner-up at the Idaho Junior Miss Pageant. Last Saturday evening, Chris Schauble, Bonners Ferry 1972 Junior Miss, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milt Schauble, was named first runner-up in the contest held at Moscow.

Lakeshore Motors will have their “grand opening” of the brand new American Motors dealership in Bonners Ferry Friday and Saturday, Jan. 21-22.

After spending the night stranded near Roman Nose in sub-freezing weather, a father and son from Hayden were rescued last Thursday morning by two helicopters from the 36th Rescue Unit based at Fairchild Air Force Base.

Delta Kappa Gamma, Upsilon Chapter, is pleased to honor Sasha Kerr as November Student of the Month and Matthew White as December Student of the Month. Both are sophomores at BFHS.

The Bonners Ferry Badger boys started slow, but steadily increased the pace, defeating the visiting Clark Fork Wampus Cats 79-50.
