Kootenai River Run, cornhole tournament dates announced

BONNERS FERRY — Kootenai River Days 2022 is coming up fast and registrations for the big race and cornhole tournament are coming even sooner.

The Kootenai River Run, a 5K and 10K event is scheduled for Saturday, July 23, at 8 a.m. Race forms are available at www.kootenairiverrun.com, Mugsy’s Bar and Grill, Safeway, Super 1 Foods, The Race Rag and in sporting goods stores and fitness centers in Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint.

Also on July 23 is the cornhole tournament at 1 p.m., in downtown Bonners Ferry on Main Street in front of City Hall.

Registration is $20 per team if registered by Friday, July 22. Late registration is $30 and will be accepted until noon the day of the event. Those interested can register and pay online at the Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce website, wwww.bonnersferrychamber.org.

Boards will be provided, but competitors are asked to bring their own bags. There will be back-up bags provided. ACL tournament-grade boards will be used for the semi-final and final rounds.

Non-tournament grade boards will be used prior. Starting round robin-style play with a minimum of four games per team to determine upper and lower bracketing. Afterward, there will be double elimination regulation tournaments.

Prizes included: Upper division, $200 for first place, $100 for second; lower division, $100 for first place, $50 for second. Top place finishers will receive a T-shirt.
