Arrest warrant served on Kootenai River Bridge
BONNERS FERRY — Walking across the Kootenai River Bridge can get you booked — but only if you have a warrant out for your arrest.
Bonners Ferry Police officer Willy Cowell saw Tyla L. Bray, 49, walking the Kootenai River Bridge on May 31 about 5 p.m. He knew she had a felony warrant out of Boundary County on possession of a controlled substance, he wrote in an affidavit.
Cowell informed Bray of the warrant and that he would be taking her into custody. Court documents say that when asked if she had anything illegal on her person, Bray said she had a “meth rock in her bra.”
Bray removed the meth and a $1 bill with residue that she allegedly said that it was used for snorting the drug. In addition, a THC vape cartridge was recovered from her jacket pocket.
Court documents said that the crystalline substance removed from Bray’s bra tested positive for meth.
Bond was set for $10,000 and Bray has a preliminary hearing set for June 13. According to court documents, she also has a possession charge from April 1.
