Trail 203 open at Section 16
PARADISE VALLEY — Trail 203, located at Section 16 in the Paradise Valley, is open to the public.
However, the single track trails are open to pedestrians and bikes only. Roads are open to horses and ATVs.
Trail 203 includes approximately 3 miles of berms, banks, flow, and views up and down.
9B Trials officials said the easiest way to access Trail 203 is to park at 1099 Kootenai Trail Road. When leaving the parking area stay right at the first two trail intersections.
This will have hikers traveling in a counterclockwise direction. Around 1.2 miles, you pass under the power line; 50 yards past the power line you have arrived at Trail 203 on the right. This trail is an out-and-around the lollipop and back up.
9B Trails officials wanted to thank excavator operators Mike Kirkpatrick and Scott Rulander for their hard work and persistence to get this trail built through a challenging spring.
They also wanted to thank all the volunteers who ran saws, threw brush and hand built the trail on very steep terrain. And of course, a final thanks to Tess Rae who wrote the grant and tracks the expenses that made Trail 203 a reality.
This trail needs bike tires rolling over it to pack it out, officials said on social media. Come out and ride a lap or two before the next rain falls. Keep in mind this is a new trail with some soft dirt, so stay low on the berms so the tops don’t blow out.
Trail 204 at Section 16 is currently under construction.
