DYW 2022 Participant Bios 4-7

Margaret Helen Weaver — Participant No. 4

Margaret Weaver is sponsored by the Knights of Pythias. She is the daughter of Adam and Niki Weaver. Margaret has two brothers, Isaac and Russell, and one sister, Alison. She plans to attend Brigham Young University-Idaho to study nursing.

A modern personality that interests Margaret is Emma Watson and she also finds historical personalities Helen Keller and Rosa Parks intriguing. Margaret enjoys participating in track, choir, and youth group. She enjoys drawing, shopping, and singing in her spare time. For her talent, Margaret will be performing a vocal solo.

When asked what makes her least proud of her generation, Margaret said, “A lot of my generation tend to be conceited or entitled. They are stubborn and have a tendency to be disrespectful.”

Mia Paige Blackmore — Participant No. 5

Mia Blackmore, sponsored by Bonners Ferry Rotary Club, is the daughter of Travis and Maureen Blackmore. She has two brothers, Caleb and Dalin, and four sisters, Anika, Emily, Allie, and Lily. Mia plans on attending Brigham Young University-Idaho. In her spare time, Mia participates in soccer, basketball, track, golf, and leadership. She enjoys participating in her church’s youth group, arts and crafts, and baking.

A modern personality that interests Mia is Malala Yousafzai, while a historical figure who interests her is Anne Frank. For her talent, Mia will be performing a self-choreographed dance.

When asked what makes Mia most proud of her generation she states, “I am most proud that my generation is hard-working and well rounded with the advancements in technology.”

Emma Elizabeth Lucas — Participant No. 6

Emma Lucas, the daughter of Scott and Angela Lucas, is sponsored by BCMS Leadership. She has three sisters, Ashley, Kimberly, and Addison, and two brothers, Brandon and Tyler. Emma plans to attend North Idaho College and later, Lewis and Clark State College and pursue a career as a social worker.

When Emma is not playing volleyball or participating in her church youth group, she enjoys baking, hiking, and playing the piano. Emma is interested in modern personality Misty May-Treanor and historical personality Mother Teresa. For her talent, Emma will be playing the piano.

When asked what makes her least proud of her generation, Emma states, “How not caring we can be of some people. We don’t realize that people every day could be struggling with something.”

Hailey Elizabeth Kelsey — Participant No. 7

Chapter AP PEO is happy to sponsor Hailey Kelsey. Hailey is the daughter of Robert and Cassandra Kelsey. She has two brothers Robert and Jaxen, and one sister Genavieve. After graduation, Hailey wants to attend West Point to become an attorney.

Extracurricular activities Hailey enjoys include cheerleading, volleyball, softball, and wrestling. In her spare time she also enjoys baking, reading, and riding horses. Hailey will be performing a cheer routine for the talent portion of the program.

When asked what makes Hailey most proud of her generation, she states, “My generation knows how to speak their minds freely. We are very opinionated and free spirited. This generation makes it known how they feel, whether good or bad.”
