R. L. Hoisington, president of the Silver Spoon Mining Co., Inc., wrote these two letters on April 22, 1931 to oil companies in Montana. Using letterhead paper from the mining company, he wrote to each: "I would like to very much know if you are still drilling for oil, or if your property is producing at the present time." They appear to both be carbon copies of the letter sent in the mail; but it is funny that one of the carbon copies was typed on the letterhead upside down.

The Silver Spoon Mine was along the Moyie River. Hoisington was president from 1930-1932. In 1933, the mining company was reorganized with A.J. Kent as president. The Silver Spoon Mine produced lead and silver.
