Badger track takes second and third, stacking up PRs at home meet

BONNERS FERRY — Badgers track teams made a good showing at the Bonners Ferry Invite taking second and third places over all and setting several new personal records.

Boys track took third place overall at the meet, held March 26. Braeden Blackmore placed third in the 200m with a time of 24.50, a new personal record. He took fifth in the 100 meter with a time of 12.02, closely followed by Tully Reinhardt who took sixth with a time of 12.18. Charles Henslee took first in the 400 with a PR of 53.51 and took third in the 1600 with a time of 4:44.56. Conner Alexander took second in the 3200.

Riley Petesch took fourth in the 110 hurdles, just 0.01 seconds behind the third place winner. Petesch’s new PR is 17.62.

The Badgers shone in the relays, taking third in 4X100, 4X200, 4X400 and the sprint medley.

Braeden Blackmore won the high jump with a jump of 5 feet,10 inches. Riley Petesch took third in the triple jump with a distance of 38 feet,10 inches. For shot put Dillion Mai took sixth with a throw of 37 feet, 6 inches and Shiloh Barry threw 37-0.5 for the Badgers claiming seventh.

The BFHS girls track claimed second overall. Camille Ussher took second in the 800 meter with a time of 2:28.95. Ussher also set a new PR for the 1600 at 6:04.19 and finished fourth. Mia Blackmore took first in the 100m hurdles. Sierra Petesch finished fourth in the 100m hurdles. In the relays the Badgers took third in the 4X100, 4X400 and took second in the 4X200.

In the field events, Asha Abubakari came in first for the long jump, triple jump and shot put. Abubakari also took second in discus with a throw of 104 feet,2 inches. Morgan Burt placed first in the pole vault with a jump of 9-6 and Maggie Weaver took second in high jump at 4-6.

Helena Rae took sixth in shot put with a throw of 31-06.5, a new PR. Eika Willis took fifth and Addy Heigel took sixth in the pole vault, both earning a new PR.
