Douglas Irvin Bennett

| March 31, 2022 1:00 AM

Douglas Irvin Bennett died November 18, 2021, at his home in Moyie Springs, Idaho, after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.

Doug was born July 10, 1952, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He was

the youngest child and only son of Harold and Betty Bennett.

He lived his entire life in Boundary County. He graduated from

Bonners Ferry High School in 1971. He married Terri and that

union produced two sons, Shad and Shawn.

Doug married Tracie Pedey on November 4, 1984, and had two

sons from that marriage, Kalan and Kasey.

Doug was a member of the National Guard. He worked most of

his adult life at W-I sawmill; retiring in 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. In his later years he took up gardening and enjoyed cooking - with a particular love for chili. He was always a jokester at heart, and loved nothing more than spinning wild tales just to see if he could make you believe it.

Doug is survived by his wife, Tracie; sons, Shad and Shawn (Annette) of Boise, Idaho, and Kalan of Moyie Springs, Idaho; along with three grandsons, Phinneus, Hayden and Jason. He is also survived by sisters, Pauleta (Mick) Lockman of Libby, Montana, and Linda Bennett and Louise (Danny) Lockman of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his son, Kasey; and his parents, Harold and Betty.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be announced later this year.
